Perfume heralds a woman’s arrival and prolongs her depature – COCO CHANEL
Make me a fragrance that smells like love – CHRISTIAN DIOR

In this article, I will be listing the best perfumes in 2017. But before that, let me just talk a bit about perfumes.

Perfumes were developed by Egyptians around 5000 years ago. Before describing what perfumes are, let us know the difference between perfume and fragrance.

For most of the people, it essentially means the same. In United States fragrance or cologne is used, in India and Arab ittar word is common, in England scent or fragrance, in France parfum! The fragrance refers to most concentrated dorm of scent and perfume, in contrast, less concentrated form.

Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils or aroma compounds, fixatives and solvents – used to give the human body, animals, food, objects, and living-spaces “a pleasant scent”.

Perfumes can be made from natural ingredients or with chemicals. The art of making perfumes is extracting the oils and scents from natural ingredients by various methods such as distillation, soaking, etc and then are blended with essential oils and kept in beautiful bottles!

Natural ingredients-  Flowers, grass, leaves, grains, petrochemicals, etc

Chemicals-  castor, musk, coal tar, mosses, resins, alcohol, etc
